BIOGRAPHY
Carla Wintor, also known as Katê, was born in a city in Brazil called Salvador, at the Evangelical Hospital of Bahia, on February 12, 1985. Her hometown, Salvador da Bahia, is internationally renowned for hosting the world’s largest popular event according to the Guinness Book, the Salvador Carnival. On the day and year she was born, Axé Music, the musical rhythm that dominates the Salvador Carnival, was also born.
In 2008, Katê made her debut at the Salvador Carnival, where she was awarded as the Revelation Singer of the year. Since then, Katê has accumulated numerous successes, performances at major festivals across the country, and collaborations with renowned artists such as Claudia Leitte, Harmonia do Samba, Léo Santana, and Saulo Fernandes. Her compositions have also been performed by these artists.
